Our great train adventure began on Saturday, February 27, 1999 when we and our friends Julie and Pat climbed on board the "City of New Orleans" at the AMTRAK station in Hammond, LA.  It was a leisurely three hour ride north to Jackson, Miss.  We enjoyed the good company of our friends and the unique atmosphere of this "new" mode of travel.

Our destination was a beautiful Bread and Breakfast called "The Fairview Inn".  This is no ordinary place.  It can only be described as a gracious southern mansion.  Our pictures really don't do it justice.  For a better view check their web site at www.fairviewinn.com.
